►What is SEO and How Does it Work? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjfrzGeB5_g
►How to Install a WordPress Theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIPQRQLAz90

For the first method in this guide, we will be using the Countdown Timer Ultimate plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/countdown-timer-ultimate/

Once installed and activated you can go to Countdown Timer, Add Timer to set up your timer’s options. Set a name, when the timer should expire, and customize the display to how you want the timer styled. Save your changes and you should now be able to get a shortcode from your Countdown timer area that you can place in a shortcode block or a widget depending on your preference.

For the second option, we are using OptinMonster to create the timer, you can find OptinMonster here:

https://optinmonster.com/

For those using OptinMonster, we will create a new optin, for this example, we are using the popup style and limiting to a Time Sensitive design. Assign the optin to the site you’re wanting and customize the optin, the style chosen should have automatically added a timer for you. Don’t forget to install and activate the OptinMonster plugin to have it display on your WordPress site.

For the last method, we will be using SeedProd found here:

https://www.seedprod.com/

The site will give you a zip file to install under Plugins, Add New, and click Upload at the top of the page. Activate the plugin and add your license key for the plugin to begin working with it under Settings, Coming Soon Pro. You will be given the option to customize the page as well as decide if you want it to be visible or not.

How to Find and Fix Broken Links in WordPress [UPDATED]

Broken links are bad for user experience but did you know they can significantly harm your SEO ranking? It’s been proven that having broken internal links can negatively impact your site’s SEO which worries some site owners. To start, we will go to SEMRush and create a new site audit by scrolling down and clicking Site Audit on the left-hand side. On the Site Audit page, we will click the New Site Audit button, add a domain, and name the project for us to keep track of it. There are many customization settings that can be set but the default search is what we will use to check for broken links. When you visit that project, you can click the broken section to see all of the pages that SEMRush sees as broken on your site.

How to do Keyword Research video:

ahrefs 7day trial:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/ahrefs/

For ahrefs, we will search our domain we want to be checked, scroll down to limit to pages, and search for the HTTP code we want to check for, in this case, 404. We can now export the links found into a CSV where you can go through and fix each of the broken links that were found.

The third method is by using MonsterInsights. MonsterInsights tracks broken links or 404 errors on your website in Google Analytics.

Once MonsterInsights is active on your website, the plugin will start to track broken links and show you a report in Google Analytics. However, it might take up to 24 hours before you see any data in Google Analytics.

How to Set Up a Site on Search Console:

https://youtu.be/-l6733dDx9Q

The fourth method would be to use Google Search Console to scan your site as well. With Google Search console connected, we will go to the Coverage section and check for any errors on that page. This will list the URLs you can find and fix on your site itself.

While we don’t normally recommend the plugin below, as a fifth option you can use the Broken Link Checker plugin here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/broken-link-checker/

With the plugin installed and activated, you can go under Tools, Broken links to see the links the plugin found for you. This plugin can be very resource-intensive which is why we don’t have it higher in our recommendations.

With the links found you can now redirect them either using your htaccess file or for a simpler solution you would install All In One SEO to handle redirects on your site. AIOSEO is the best SEO plugin for WordPress. It is used on over 2 million websites to help you improve your SEO on your site.

With WPForms installed and activated we would want to go under WPForms, Addons, and activate the Stripe Addon by clicking the ‘Install Addon’ button then click the ‘Activate’ button. This will require you to have a Stripe account, if you do not have a Stripe account you can sign up for one on their site below.

https://stripe.com/

With the addon activated active, you would go under WPForms, Settings and under the payments tab, you would want to click the ‘Connect with Stripe’ button to connect your account by logging in to your Stripe account. As long as you have signed in correctly you should be brought back to the WPForms payment settings tab. If you wanted to enable Test Mode, Stripe would require you to connect your account again.

As that is all set up, you can create a form under WPForms, Add New and the Billing/Order form is a good starting template that has the required fields for requesting billing information. After you customize the form to have the fields you’re wanting you would want to add the Stripe Credit Card field to your form.

With the form added, you would want to go to the Payments tab and enable Stripe payments which will allow you to customize how the payment will be handled and how the payment message will be sent to you and the user who created the purchase.

Once the form is ready, you can click the Embed button in the top-right to select a specific page to add it to or you can create a new page on your site to add the form. You should see the block editor and have the option to add the WPForms block. The block will bring up the WPForms interface where you can select the form you want to be added to the page.

What’s Coming in WordPress 5 8 Features and Screenshots

WordPress 5.8 has an expected release date of July 20th, 2022. It will be the second major release of the year with plenty of new improvements and features. Come join us as Christina covers what’s coming in WordPress 5.8!

One of the major improvements in the template editor that allows you to add site editing blocks such as the site logo, tagline, title, and many other layout blocks to design the site how you’re wanting without the need for a page builder. This template editor still relies on your WordPress theme to pull in its styles.

If you were looking to build a landing page or similar we would still recommend taking a look at SeedProd:

https://www.seedprod.com/

Another new feature is editing widgets as blocks. When editing widgets under Appearance, Widgets will bring up the new editor with all of the editing options that were added for posts such as spacing, typography, and other design tools without the need for plugins.

WordPress is also adding support for WebP images which is an image format that can reduce the size of your images by 25% or more. The downside of this is that it will not automatically replace the image with a JPEG or PNG if the user is not on a browser that supports WebP images.

WordPress has added an improved ability to select individual sections and groups of content. If you want to select a higher grouping than the object selected, there should be a button to go up one level to select the container. There’s also an improved list view to help sort and select specific blocks in an easy to read format.

For dragging and moving tools there has been an improvement to the handle including block highlighting as you move the mouse over different blocks. There are also Duotone filters that you can apply to your images that include presets as well as custom color options.

Developer Details:

WordPress will end support for Internet Explorer by the end of this year. 5.8 has merged most of the changes needed for that:

https://make.wordpress.org/core/2022/04/22/ie-11-support-phase-out-plan/

Context aware filters to use block editor APIs on multiple WordPress admin screens:

https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/52920

WordPress recovery mode email message will now only be shown when email can be sent:
