How to Check if Your Website is SEO Optimized 2 Easy Ways

Do you want to check if your website is SEO optimized? By analyzing your WordPress site’s on-page SEO setup, you can easily find and fix SEO errors, so you can improve your search engine rankings and get more traffic. In this guide, we’ll show you a few ways you can check if your WordPress website is SEO optimized.

For our first method, we will be using All in One SEO and while there is a free version of the plugin available, we will be using the pro version. You can find the pro version and our discount for it below:

=================================
https://aioseo.com/pricing/
=================================

For our discount, use our code: WPBVIP

Once you install, activate, and add your license key active you can go under All in One SEO, SEO Analysis and AIOSEO will ask you information about your site to ensure it is set up for the correct content and type of site you are attempting to create. It will ask you how you want your site’s title, the type of site, and multiple other customizations such as for your social profiles.

Once you have told AIOSEO how you want your site it will scan your site and give you an overall site score for your site as well as tips to improve the score. There are also tools for you to scan your competitors to help you see where you can improve. As well when you create or update a post there will be recommendations in the post itself.

Our second tool recommendation would be SEMRush and you can find their site using the referral link below:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/semrush/

Once you sign up and log in you would want to go under their Site Audit page and SEMRush will scan your site for their recommendations. Each recommendation page will list the links to the different pages on your site that have these issues. SEMRush also has backlinks analytics including different sites that are linking back to your site and a section to see how your site’s organic search is doing.

How to set up Google Analytics video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWSrpXQDSbk

With the MonsterInsights plugin installed, activated, and let up with your Google Analytics, you can go under Insights, Popular Posts and select the ‘Popular Posts Widget’ item in your menu to start customizing.

There are multiple styles and customizations available as well as the option in the theme preview to view the ‘Wide’ and ‘Narrow’ styles for the widget. Once the widget is styled how you would want it, in the embed options there are 4 different options you can use, the simplest method being ‘Automatic Placement’ to handle placing the posts for you.

There are also the options of using a block, shortcode, or adding a widget to your widgets area. For the block, you would want to go to the post or page and click the add block button and the block we are looking for is called ‘Popular Posts’ or ‘Inline Popular Posts’. Once the block is added you can customize the specific block for this post or page if you would prefer different customizations over the defaults you set in the settings of the plugin.

How to Put Your WordPress Site in Maintenance Mode

Do you want to put your WordPress site in maintenance mode? Maintenance mode allows you to display a user-friendly notice to your visitors instead of a broken site during website maintenance. It allows you to safely perform maintenance tasks while making sure that people who need access can still access the site. In this video, we’ll show you how to put your WordPress site in maintenance mode.

SeedProd is a free WordPress plugin that allows you to create completely custom Coming Soon pages, Maintenance Mode pages, 404 pages, and even full marketing landing pages. If you’re interested in purchasing SeedProd you can find it using the page below and get a discount using our code WPBVIP.

For SeedProd, once you install and activate the plugin, you would navigate to SeedProd, Pages, and click the ‘Set up a Maintenance Mode Page’ button. You will be given the choice to select from a premade template and we would recommend selecting one of the pre-built pages to customize.

SeedProd has a drag and drop page builder where you can customize any object you like, including changing text, location of elements, or resizing elements. Once you have set up the page how you wanted, click the save in the top right. Once your maintenance page is set up, SeedProd allows you to activate the page under SeedProd, Pages using the toggle beneath Maintenance mode.

If you need a simple alternative solution, then we would recommend the WP Maintenance Mode plugin found using the link below:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/

Once you install and activate the plugin you can find its settings under Settings, ‘WP Maintenance Mode’, and from that settings page you have the option to activate the maintenance mode page, allow bots to crawl your site while it is in maintenance mode and many other useful customization settings depending on how you want the maintenance page to work with your site.

The easiest way to add the Facebook status is by using the Smash Balloon Social Post plugin found using the link below.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-facebook-feed/

With the plugin installed and activated you can go to Facebook Feed, Settings from your admin area, and click the ‘Connect a Facebook account’ button in the ‘Configuration’ tab. This will allow you to connect to a page or group and click continue to log in to your Facebook account for allowing it access.

You will need to select the specific page or group and tell Facebook to allow it the access needed to pull in and display the information. Any selected pages will be listed should you want to remove access to the pages. To list a status on your WordPress site you can copy a URL and use the embed block to paste the URL into and it will appear as a proper Facebook embed on your site.

The second option would be to use Smash Balloon’s Custom Facebook Feed Pro to create the feed. You can find the pro version using the link below.

https://smashballoon.com/custom-facebook-feed/

For our discount, use our code: WPBVIP

If you are using the plugin from above you would want to deactivate it before installing and activating this version. Under Facebook Feed, Settings you can add your license key under the ‘License’ tab of your settings. If you have connected a page or group using the free version then you shouldn’t need to connect it again.

The plugin adds many different style customizations for the posts to display how you are wanting on your site. Now, when you edit a post or page there is a Custom Facebook Feed block that you can use to automatically list a feed of your posts.

How to Optimize Core Web Vitals for WordPress Ultimate Guide

Are you unsure what Google’s Core Web Vitals are or do you know what they are and are looking to optimize your site for them? Either way, you have found the guide for you! Google’s Core Web Vitals is Google’s initiative to help website owners improve user experience and quality on their website. In this video, we’ll explain what Google’s Core Web Vitals are and how to optimize your WordPress site for Google’s Core Web Vitals.

The three primary quality tests for Google’s Web vitals are:

Largest Contentful Paint(LCP)
First Input Delay(FID)
Cumulative Layout Shift(CLS)

Largest Contentful Paint covers how quickly the main content becomes visible to your users as your site can load fast but the largest content on your site may have a delay before it shows to your users.

First Input Delay measures how long it takes a user’s browser to actually be able to process events from user interaction.

Cumulative Layout Shift measures how long it takes for a site to become stable, this would be when users try to load a page but different sections shift during the loading process.

You can test a page’s core web vitals using Google’s Page Seed Insights tool on the URL below:
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights

If you would prefer to test your entire site, you would go under Google Search Console, and under Enhancements, there should be a section labeled Core Web Vitals.

Depending on what you are looking to improve we have a few different resources that you would find helpful below:

Smash Balloon is a powerful plugin to help you bring your social media content to your WordPress site, and we will be using the premium version of the plugin that can be found on the page below:

https://smashballoon.com/

With the plugin installed, activated, and the license key added you can connect it to your Twitter profile by clicking the log in button and the plugin should bring in your access token and access token secret. This will complete your connection and you can start customizing the display for your site.

For our second method, we are using the WordPress embed system. You will want to visit the page on Twitter you are wanting to embed, copy the URL from that page and go back to your site. We will be adding it to the widget area so you would add a text widget and paste the URL in there and it should automatically embed.

Your third method would be to use Twitter’s publish page. You can select a tweet, hashtag, or many other different Twitter-specific options depending on what you are looking to customize. After you add the URL, click the arrow and Twitter will let you choose the embed option and will give you the code to copy. With the code copied, you would want to add a Custom HTML widget and paste the code into that widget to add it to your site.

How to Change the Number of Posts Displayed On Your WordPress Blog Page

Are you wanting to change the number of posts displayed on your site’s blog page? By default, WordPress uses the archive page and matches the number of posts per page to your settings area. In this short video, we will show you how to easily change the number of posts listed on your blog page.

Most themes should follow our recommendations below and in the video, if your theme does not follow this method then you would normally find these settings under Appearance, Customize, or in the Theme Options area of these themes.

For most themes you should be able to go under Settings, Reading to see the settings for your site and the option labeled ‘Blog pages to show at most’ to the value you would want to change. For most sites, you will now see a reduced number of posts on the site while having either a load more or a link to view older posts.

Are you wanting to add a PDF file for your users to download on your WordPress site? WordPress allows you to easily upload PDF files and make them available for download, you can use these file downloads to grow your email subscribers, or even sell PDF digital downloads in a members-only area. In this video, we will share how to upload a PDF to your WordPress site.

To start, you either have the option to add the file from your content itself or upload it to your media library first and in this guide, we will first upload the file to our media library. To do this we will go under Media, Library, and click the “Add New” button to upload the file. You can either drag and drop the file or click the Select file button to open up your file browser and select the PDF from there.

You can now go to your post or page that you would like to have included and use the add block button either in the section you’re looking at or at the top of the page and we want to add the File block. This will pull up the file block where we can upload if we haven’t previously or in our case we will choose to select from our media library for the file we’ve already uploaded.

WordPress will add some text as well as a download button that can be customized how you would like including changing the button text, if you wanted to link it to the file or a page for the file, and if you wanted to open it in a new tab or not. Once you have the download how you’re wanting, you can preview and publish the changes to your WordPress site.
