If you’re just using the standard Gutenberg/Block editor then there is a built-in block you can use. Click on the ‘Add’ icon and select the column block and WordPress will add the columns where you can click the section you would like it added to and in the block settings on the side, you can customize how many columns and a few other options.

You can also add media such as videos in the columns with the column block. If you would like to add a video to the column you would want to click on the ‘Add new block’ inside the column and select the type of content you are wanting to add. WordPress will display the options within the constraints of the column where you can customize it how you are wanting.

If you are using the classic editor then you would need to use a plugin and for this, we would want to use the Lightweight Grid Columns plugin found below.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/lightweight-grid-columns/

Once activated, you will now have a new icon in the post editor with the ‘Add columns’ button where you can customize the area your columns will cover and the grid percentage on different devices and you can add the content you are looking to add. The plugin would then look to add the content in their shortcode to have it display in multiple columns.

How to Build An Amazon Affiliate Store Using WordPress

Are you looking to create an Amazon affiliate store with WordPress? An Amazon affiliate store allows you to sell products from Amazon.com as an affiliate and earn a commission on each sale. This allows you to focus on writing your content and driving traffic to your site. In this article, we’ll show you how to build an amazon affiliate store using WordPress.

This video is sponsored by MonsterInsights, a powerful plugin to help you use your analytics information to the fullest, take a look at MonsterInsights here:

=================================

=================================

For our discount, use our code: WPBVIP

For getting started, we would recommend hosting your site if you don’t have a host already with BlueHost. You can sign up with our affiliate link below, using this link will reward us for referring you to BlueHost who we would normally recommend to most beginners.

https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/bluehost/

Once you have the site installed, you can install and activate the WooCommerce plugin and it will bring up the setup wizard. If you are planning to sell your own products on your site we would recommend going through the steps in this wizard but for this guide, we will assume there are no personal products and skip the setup wizard.

Next, you will want to go to Amazon’s affiliate site and click the join for free button, it will use your current Amazon account or you will have the option to create an amazon account if you do not have one already. Once you fill out the application Amazon will review your application and if approved you will have 180 days to get 3 sales otherwise, you would be removed from the program. If it is not active already, we would recommend enabling your Amazon toolbar when viewing Amazon as it is an easy way to grab your affiliate link from the product page itself rather than searching somewhere else for it.

We can now go back to your WooCommerce site and start setting up products. If you go under Products, Add New you can add a title for the product and change the product data to External/Affiliate product. Add the product URL and it will add a link to the product on Amazon. Amazon currently does not allow you to copy the content or images used on the product page, you would need to either access them using an API or go to the manufacturer’s site to gather the information.

As you set up your store, if you are interested in tracking your conversions, we would recommend taking a look at MonsterInsights. It is a powerful tool for tracking not only your sales but also your site’s analytics.

You would want to ensure your images are the same size to keep your images the same on the blog page.

7 Best WordPress SEO Plugins and Tools That You Should Use

We’re often asked what the best SEO tools and plugins are that we would recommend for WordPress. ►How to Install a WordPress Theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIPQRQLAz90

For this guide, our first recommendation is All in One SEO for WordPress(AIOSEO) as the best WordPress SEO plugin available to help you get started. It has a setup wizard that automatically helps you choose the best SEO settings for your specific business needs.

There is an on-page SEO checklist to include a smart meta tag generator where you can use dynamic values in your descriptions as well as add rich snippet schema markup. All of these and more powerful tools are included to help make things that much easier for you.

SEMRush is another powerful tool to use to help find organic keywords and terms to see what your competitors are ranking for and how you can improve your website content. Their keyword planner will help you focus your keywords for what you are wanting and rank your content.

Google Search Console will help you actively track and maintain links on your site and let you know of any crawl errors. It also tracks helpful information such as total clicks, impressions, average CTR, and average position.

Yoast is another SEO plugin that you can use to allow you to optimize your WordPress websites for search engines. This includes generating an XML sitemap for your site content which makes it easier for search engines to crawl your site.

Google’s keyword planner helps you generate your own keyword ideas from Google itself that are normally for advertising but can help you find what people are organically searching for. Nobody knows what people are searching for more than Google so using their tool is a powerful thing to have.

Ahrefs is an all-in-one SEO tool for businesses and marketers that offers similar tools and features to SEMRush. While there is some overlap, Ahrefs has a great backlink analyzer for finding which sites are linking to multiple competitors for finding more partnerships to build in the future.

Lastly, in this video, we will recommend taking a look at MonsterInsights. MonsterInsights is the best Google Analytics plugin for WordPress that allows you to easily install Google analytics in WordPress that shows human-readable reposts inside your WordPress dashboard.

What’s Coming in WordPress 5 7 Features and Screenshots

WordPress 5.7 is planned to launch on March 9th, 2022, and will be the first major release of the year. This new release comes with some major new features and improvements. Come watch our video where we share what’s coming in WordPress 5.7.

This video brought to you by SeedProd, the best WordPress landing and page builder plugin available, take a look at their site here:

=================================

For our discount use the code: WPBVIP

The first ease of use improvement is when you are adding a block from the inserter on the left-hand side of your site, you can drag and drop the block into the location you want it to be placed.

Next, if you enjoyed using full-width blocks for different sections of your site then WordPress has added a full height block that allows you to create a block that fills in the height of the user’s screen to allow you to create engaging layouts.

Blocks should also have descriptions for their variations, as an example, the social icon blocks include a preview where you can inspect them in the block editor with a preview. There is also the option to change the size of the social buttons added to the editor.

For any buttons added using the block editor, there is now a vertical alignment option so you are not forced to custom add that feature.

More blocks have also added the font size op[tion, previously this was for mainly the paragraph block but the option has been included for somewhere it was missing, mainly lists and code.

Added to the WordPress site health is the option to update your site to HTTPS, previously this was a very difficult process that could cause errors on your site but WordPress has added functions to make this process that much easier.

There have been some less noticeable changes such as the admin color scheme being standardized to reduce the available colors to a more friendly amount. There are also more changes under the hood of WordPress to help improve your site.

Lastly, lazy loading has been added to iFrames which means they will not be loaded until the user’s screen gets to that section on your site. Since 5.5 WordPress has used this for images but this recent addition helps speed up sites even further.

For this tutorial, we will be using Bluehost and you can use our affiliate/referral link for a discount below:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/bluehost/

The video will go through the different steps in purchasing and getting BlueHost set up. The only addon that you may want to consider would be the privacy addon, otherwise, we do not recommend the other addons as they can be replaced with WordPress plugins.

Once your purchase is complete, BlueHost should install WordPress for you or walk you through the installation process for the settings that you would like to have on creation. After that, you would want to log into the WordPress site to start editing.

To remove any excess clutter we will be disabling all plugins except MonsterInsights(gives you Analytics), WPForms(allows you to create contact forms), and OptinMonster. For the others, we will click the checkbox and in the dropdown options, we will select deactivate, apply, and then repeat that process for deleting the plugins.

For the design of your site, you would want to go under Appearance, Themes, and choose the theme you would like, for this tutorial we have purchased and are using the Astra theme. You can find that theme using our referral/affiliate link below:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/astra-wordpress-theme/

After the base design of the site is set up or you have a template added, we will want to fix the URLs on your site so they are human-readable. To do this we will go under Settings, Permalinks and update the permalinks to a different version. We prefer the post name default option.

The video will go through the different customization options available and different ways you can customize your site. If you use a different theme then your options may be different than what is shown in the video for appearance.

The general settings, as well as available plugins, should not change based on the theme you are using.

We also walk you through setting up a contact form with WPForms, connecting your site to Google Analytics using Monster Insights, and a nice tip for creating personalized landing pages using SeedProd.

As we’re using BlueHost for this, we will go under Email, and click Add Email Account to start the process. You can select the email address and add a password for the email account and BlueHost will add it to your email on their hosting.

With the email account set up, you should now be able to access the webmail or connect your different devices using their different processes depending on your preferences. While the interface may be different, you can do a similar process on SiteGround, HostGator, DreamHost, and InMotion Hosting.

For the second method, we will be using Google Workspaces(previously G Suite) and you can use our referral link below:

For most individuals, we would recommend the business starter and you can go up depending on your business needs but each user will increase the cost. Google will give you the option to either say you own a domain or if you do not own one, you will have the option to purchase a domain through Google.

Google will walk you through the process of setting up your account with them and afterward, you would need to verify that you actually own the domain through one of their processes. The current recommendation would be to add a TXT record to your domain. For this tutorial, we copied the text record given by Google and go back into our domain provider.

For BlueHost, we went under Domains, My Domains, and went to the DNS settings area. There should be a section specifically for TXT records where we want the host to be @ and the TXT value to be the code given by Google.

Now we can activate our email address on Google itself and Gmail will give a checklist to see that email addresses have been added and you are ready to receive the emails. For ensuring the emails reach you, you would want to remove unused MX options and add the different MX records given by Google. It may take some time for your records to update due to the caching so if Google does not notice the MX records then you may need to give it some time.
