While you can create a landing page with the free version, for this tutorial we are using the pro version. For the pro version, we will go to the Seedprod site, log in, and get our plugin files as well as our license key. Now in our WordPress site under Plugins, we will use the upload button to upload and install the plugin files.

To get started we will go under SeedProd, Pages, and click the Create Your First Page button to bring up the editor. SeedProd’s builder will start with you deciding the type of template to start with. Add a page name and if you would like a specific URL, set the URL in that field.

SeedProd will bring up their drag-and-drop builder where you can modify, resize, or replace the content on your landing page. The editing tools for the selection you’ve chosen are on the left-hand side of the screen.

The video will show some of our recommendations for a landing page like this one as well as some recommended sections that you can add to the page that are designed for you. There is also the option for creating color templates to style the content on the page based on those colors.

SeedProd also has integrations for the different email providers to allow you to collect the email addresses of users who want to submit their information.

For the second option, we recommend taking a look at domain.com. Search for the domain you’re wanting your site to use and if it is available, domain.com will add the domain to your cart as well as offer a list of alternative domain names to choose from. Once you have the domain you plan to use and go to the checkout screen there are many different addons included that you can disable and update the registration duration to multiple years if you’re wanting.

If you don’t want to use either of those options, then our third most popular location to register for a domain would be GoDaddy.com. As with Domain.com, you can search for a domain that you want to register and have multiple different options available to you.

Different hosting providers have multiple tools and methods for activating your SSL certificate and if you reach out to their support you can normally get their assistance to activate it if the tools to do so are not visible. For example, we will be showing how to activate an SSL certificate on BlueHost’s hosting.

For BlueHost, we will log into their control panel, and under the My Sites section, we will click the button labeled Manage Site for the site we’re wanting to edit. This will bring up the settings for this specific site and we will navigate to the Security tab of the site and toggle the SSL Certificate setting. Activating that on BlueHost will enable SSL which allows you to have your site run on HTTPS.

While activating SSL ensures HTTPS works on your site, there are times where links or other tools may not work properly and to prevent these issues we will be adding the Really Simple SSL plugin found below:

Once the plugin has been installed and activated it should add a notification box at the top where you can activate SSL for your site. Once you click the button the Really Simple SSL plugin will go through and update your links to properly work with SSL and all of your content should load using HTTPS.

The setting for the plugin can be found under Settings, SSL, and by default, it should activate Mixed content fixer which will take the links that are currently HTTP and change them to HTTPS and enabling the WordPress 301 redirect will send any links that are using HTTP to the correct HTTPS version of the link.

The first major noticeable addition is there is a new default theme titled Twenty Twenty-One. It provides a great canvas for the block editor and the site editing features as well as a simple design. There are also new sections to use the pattern feature that was added in the 5.5 update.

The Cover and image blocks have added a positioning option to help have the design how you want. The different patterns have been organized into different categories to help group them to make them easier to find.

Keywords have been added to give multiple options to find the same block in the editor section. A character count has been added as the default with the information section at the top and color support has been added for things like the list block.

If you are looking for an option that is hidden by default or not displaying then WordPress has renamed the editor options to preferences to help make it easier to understand the usage for it. WordPress also has enabled the option to activate automatic updates for major WordPress releases as well.

How to Capture Emails in WordPress (Step by Step)

For the first method in this article, we’ll be using the Pro version of the WPForms plugin that you can purchase using the link above.

Once you purchase the plugin, install, activate, and add your license key in the plugin’s settings to ensure everything is set up correctly. Then we will create a new form under WPForms Add New and for the purposes of this guide, we will be using the Newsletter signup form template to get us started.

Once you customize the form how you like you can connect it to an email service provider under the marketing tab on the left-hand side. Once you have it set and connected how you want, you can go into the posts or pages where you would like to include it and add the WPForms block to the content.

Now when your users submit to the form you can go under WPForms, Entires to see all of the entries to that specific form.

For an alternative to WPForms, we would recommend taking a look at OptinMonster. OptinMonster gives plenty of tools and options for gathering your email addresses and to help with this, OptinMonster has a startup wizard to help you get connected and set up.

With it set up, you will now select the type of Optin you want to appear on the site from the campaign type to the starting style. Once you have selected the style, you will want to click on the use template button and name the campaign something you would remember as the name will be for your uses only.

You should now be able to go through OptinMonster’s campaign creation process where you can style, label, and make the campaign work how you’re wanting. Now that you’ve styled it how you’re wanting you will go through the process of when and how you are wanting it to display. Lastly, ensure you click to publish for your campaign to appear on your site.

How to Add Keywords and Meta Descriptions in WordPress

For this we will be using the All In One SEO plugin that can be found using the link below:

With the plugin installed and activated, we are using the paid version so we will add the license key under All in One SEO, Add License Key and click connect. Now we should be able to launch the setup wizard for the recommended settings to add based on the type of site we’re using.

For the meta description for posts and pages, we will go under All in One SEO, Search Appearance, and under the advanced tab, we would want to enable the Use Meta Keywords option and save our changes.

When you directly visit a post you should be able to scroll down to see the new snippet area or you can use the All in One SEO button in the top-right of your post/page editor.

When you add to the Meta Description area, the plugin should show you a preview of the changes and what Google should show your visitors on your site. As a caveat, Google has started taking some of the content in posts to replace the meta description if Google feels that will answer the user’s question better than the default meta description.

When Google does show your meta description, the plugin offers automated description options such as the current year, author, or many other options. In the advanced tab, you can also include different keywords you would like to include for the Meta Keywords if you are using that as part of your SEO strategy.

For adding the Meta description and/or keywords to your home page, you can either directly visit the static page you are using on your site or under the All in One SEO, Search Appearance, Global Settings tab. You can even add these meta descriptions for categories and the All in One SEO plugin will show you on the categories page, which of your categories is missing this information.

For this guide, we will install and activate the WooCmmerce plugin and before adding any products we will go to Products, All Products. WooCommerce will have an option to create a product or Start an import and we will want to select Start Import.

The Import wizard will be brought up and in the bottom left-hand corner, we want to click the ‘Show advanced options’ link. In the CSV path section, we would want to add the file path below.

File location of the sample data CSV:
wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/sample-data/sample_products.csv

For a second option, you can add your domain to the front of the file location and your browser should start downloading the file.

This will import the default products for WooCommerce and if you would like to test the ordering system you can go under WooCommerce, Settings, Payments, and enable the ‘Cash on delivery’ payment option.

When you’re ready to remove the sample data you would start by going under Products, all Products, and move the sample ones to the trash and then in your trash to permanently remove the sample products. We would also recommend going into your media library and removing the images you will no longer be using.
