01:07 Method 1: How to install a free theme from WordPress dashboard
04:54 Method 2: How to upload a premium theme to WordPress
07:24 How to make your theme look like the demo

TO edit your site’s theme you would first want to log into your WordPress site, to do this you would log into your WordPress site. If you don’t know how to log into your site, you would go to your domain and add /wp-admin to go to your login page where you can insert your login information.

Under Appearance, Themes you would normally only see one theme if you have one installed or a list of all of the themes you have installed on your site. You can use the add new button in the top left to see all of the free and freemium themes available to you from the WordPress repository.

Should you not be able to see the same themes or are unable to install plugins then you are likely on WordPress.com instead of WordPress.org which we cover. For a comparison of WordPress.com and WordPress.org you would want to take a look at our article below:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/self-hosted-wordpress-org-vs-free-wordpress-com-infograph/

If you are wanting to use a premium theme, then you would download the theme from the theme provider, and go back to your WordPress admin area under Appearance, Themes, and once you click add new the button should update to the option to upload your downloaded zip file for your theme.

To make your theme look like the demo we would recommend taking a look at your theme’s documentation for if they have a recommendation for a starter pack or if they have demo content. If you’re using the Astra theme then we would recommend installing their Starter Templates for getting the template set up.

How to Display Recent Posts in WordPress

Do you want to show your recent posts in WordPress? Displaying recent posts help users easily discover your new content and spend more time on your site. You can add a list of your latest posts in your sidebar after the end of your post content, inside the content with a shortcode, or anywhere else you like. In this video, we will show you how to display recent posts in WordPress using multiple different methods.

This video is sponsored by MonsterInsights, a powerful plugin to help you use your analytics information to the fullest, take a look at MonsterInsights here:

For our discount, use our code: WPBVIP

For the first method we will be using the new Gutenberg block, go to the post or page you would like it to appear on and the block is currently called Latest Posts that you want to add. The block includes multiple customization options available in the block’s settings on the side that you can use.

Second option would be the recent posts widget, this can be found under Appearance, Widgets. This has fewer customization options but will allow you to add a list of recent posts to your widget areas depending on your preference.

Another option would be to use a plugin for this customization and the plugin we will be using can be found below:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/recent-posts-widget-with-thumbnails/

It would be placed in the widgets area but gives far more customization options than the standard Recent Posts widgets.

If you are still using the classic editor and don’t have or want to use the options above there is the Display Posts plugin below:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/

With the plugin installed and activated you would then be able to add the shortcode for the plugin itself.

Finally, should none of these methods be what you are looking for, you can take a look at our written article for how to add recent posts by editing your theme’s templates.

For creating a menu you would want to go under Appearance, Menus in your WordPress admin dashboard. While you may have one already, we will be creating a new one for this specific tutorial.

There are many built-in options for the menu such as pages, published posts, custom links, or categories as options. The list of what you’ve added will be a top to bottom list but the display of the menu depends on your specific theme.

If you would like to create a dropdown menu you would drag the menu item beneath the menu item you would like it beneath and it should appear indented beneath the menu item.

Categories added in the menu area will list the posts in that specific category the same as if it was on your posts/blog page.

Custom menu items are normally for linking to your social media profiles but there are other options available depending on what you would like in your menu.

Finally, if you’re interested in making a more complex menu you would want to take a look at our guide on creating a mega menu.

15 Ultimate Tools to Help Small Businesses with Remote Work

Are you looking for tools to help your team go remote? We’ve had many users ask us what our recommended tools are when they’re just starting out and there are a lot of tools available depending on what you’re wanting to do. In this video, we’ll share 15 awesome tools to help your small business start working remotely.

This video brought to you by OptinMonster, the best Lead-generation plugin plugin available, take a look at their site here:

Our number 1 tool is, of course, WordPress itself, it is currently the most popular tool to help users create their website online and we cover many different ways to create a website with WordPress. Our top recommended themes are Divi or Astra.

Nextiva is a great way of getting a phone system for your company with virtual or other phone systems. For a backup, you can get RingCentral.

For internal communication and messaging we both use and recommend Slack, it allows you to group and converse with your team, and the free version limits to 10,000 messages which is a good start for a small company. For an alternative, you may also want to take a look at Microsoft Teams.

If you need to have a face-to-face with your team or customers then you would want to take a look at Zoom. You are allowed 40 minutes for free in meetings for just starting. An alternative if you are looking for one would be Nextiva.

To keep in touch with your customers we don’t recommend CCing them on emails for your newsletters as that isn’t the best for deliverability. You would want to use a service such as Constant Contact to schedule, customize, and personalize all of the emails you send to your users.

For collecting the contact information or receiving requests from new users you would want to take a look at WPForms the most beginner-friendly form solution out there, for more advanced forms you would want to take a look at Formidable Forms.

If you want to start a membership site then you would want to take a look at MemberPress to allow you to have multiple different membership levels and a way to display it. For an eLearning site, you would want to take a look at the LearnDash plugin for an alternative.

When scheduling there can be issues finding a time that both works for you and your customers and in this case we will recommend Calendly so you can send them your available time and schedule out what in your available time would be best. As with the other recommendations, an alternative you can use would be StartBooking, or for services, you could use BirchPress.

With your team collaboratively contacting your users you need a way to have your team all send out emails we use and recommend HelpScout. It has helpful tools like traffic cop to prevent the same email from being sent to the same person.

Live chat is another tool for getting in touch with your users and LiveChat Inc is who we recommend at or for an alternative you can take a look at Nextiva or chatbot.com.

Time Doctor is a great tool we recommend for helping you and your employees keep track of time and noticing when you are going off normal time or the allotted time for a specific task.

Microsoft 365 is a powerful tool to share files between teammates and an alternative would be Dropbox.

Asana is a great tool for creating tasks for your different team members and having them scheduled out or having different subtasks assigned to different team members. Trello and Basecamp are alternatives if you don’t want to use Asana.

You can look into the Hero Themes Heroic Knowledge Base plugin to create a company hub to collect all of your information for your team to live on one location. Our recommended alternative is SharePoint teams.

How to Set Up Online Food Ordering for Restaurants in WordPress

Do you want to set up a system for ordering food for your restaurant? If it’s a new venture, or you’ve had person to person sales for years, offering food delivery can help boost your revenue. While this process may sound technical, we have come up with an easy way to set it up. In this video, we will share how to set up an online food ordering for restaurants using WordPress step by step.

This video brought to you by SeedProd, the best WordPress giveaway plugin available, take a look at their site here:

=================================
https://www.seedprod.com/
=================================

For our discount use the code: WPBVIP

For this guide we will be using WPFomrs Pro, once you’ve installed and set up the plugin we will want to go into WPForms, Addons and install the Form Templates Pack Addon as well as any payments you would like to accept. For Credit Cards you would use stripe or there is a Paypal option for those looking to accept PayPal.

Now we can go to WPForms, Add New and scroll down to search for and select the Takeout Order form. This form will auto-populate a form with the fields you would normally need for that type of form. The base form starts out as a Pizza form to give examples but you can change to fit your needs.

Add any fields you feel would fit your needs then in the settings, you can edit the notification settings to email to the address you would like orders sent to for your site and change the subject line. You can then create a new notification so your customers receive an email letting them know you received their order. You can also add to the confirmations, a confirmation page that the order has been sent in so users don’t have to wait for the email to know that they have submitted an order.

We can then set up the payment option of our choice in the payment section. Ensure once you are ready to start selling that the options are set to production for you to receive a payment. Now add from the Payment Fields section a multiple item selector and it will add connections for your payments and for you to choose the costs of each selection. This will give you the option to add a total and a payment option below for you to start accepting orders.

To add your form to your site, create a new page or post, add the WPForms block, and select the title of the form you have just created. Once you publish it, the page will be live on your site and you can start receiving orders. If you want to help ensure the emails are delivered to you, you can set up SMTP by following our guide here:

10 Proven Ways to Make Money Online with WordPress

Are you looking for ways to make money online that are NOT scams? We’re here talking with our founder Syed Balkhi looking for some of the top ways to make money online with WordPress. Come take a look as we go over the top 10 ways to make money online and the tools to help you succeed in doing this.

This video is sponsored by MonsterInsights, a powerful plugin to help you use your analytics information to the fullest, take a look at MonsterInsights here:

For our first recommendation would be to look into affiliate programs. This is when you get a reward for referring someone to a product you would recommend or helping them sign up for an account at certain banks. For getting started we recommend programs like Amazon, Commission Junction, and ShareASale. Pretty Links is a helpful tool to help with organizing your links and making them human-readable.

Next, you can add advertising to your site such as Goole Adsense to include ads on your site for when users visit. There is a negative as Google takes a cut of your advertising revenue as they are an intermediary. If you were looking for more revenue you could look into plugins like AdSanity so you can negotiate ads on your site with advertisers that may be interested in your content.

If you have content or groups that you would like to gather the information you have available we would recommend creating a membership site using a plugin like MemberPress.

You can also collect the information you want to share with your visitors by using a word processor and saving the content as a PDF to create an ebook that you can sell. For specifically digital products we would recommend Easy Digital Downloads.

If you are well versed in what you want to share, you can create a program to teach others. We would recommend a plugin like LearnSash to set up your learning platform as it should have all of the tools you need for just starting out.

Another option would be to create a local/quality web directory, you could either charge for placement or charge for access to the directory itself. We have an article on how to create a directory here:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-create-a-web-directory-in-wordpress/

If you have products you previously sold physically you may want to look into creating an online store to offer it digitally or create a dropshipping store or marketplace to sell products created by other users.

If you are well versed in doing a certain task and are looking to offer a service you could look into freelancing with FreshBooks for you to offer invoicing. Or you can consult others by offering time using clarity.fm or having a consultation request form on your site.
