We’ll start by going under Appearance, Menus and create a new menu or edit the menu where we would like to add the dropdown. We will add the pages and posts that we want to include in the menu to organize. The selected content will be in your menu area and you will have the ability to modify the order here.

To add the dropdown you would want to drag the menu item to the right and drop it. WordPress should move it to the right and name it a sub-item. This will place it beneath the content as a dropdown option that you can save to keep it there. Now you can use the checkboxes below the menu or go into Appearance, Customize and choose your theme-specific location to add the menu.

Best Contact Form Plugins for WordPress Compared

Are you looking to add a contact form to your WordPress site and not sure which one to use? There are thousands of contact form plugins to choose from so it’s difficult to know which is the best for you. In this video, we’ll cover which is the best WordPress form plugin for your needs.

Our top 5 recommended form plugins are the following:

WPForms:

https://wpforms.com/

Formidable Forms:

https://formidableforms.com/

For most sites, we recommend WPForms as that is the plugin we’ve created for our needs as well as the needs of our visitors. This means we had beginners in mind while still giving powerful marketing tools for those needing it. The free version of WPForms can handle the basic need of most sites and you can purchase an upgrade should you need more of the tools in the plugin.

If you’re a developer or looking for more advanced features for your forms we would recommend Formidable Forms. This includes different calculators or any sort of form that would need calculations like mortgage calculators, body fat calculators, etc.

If you are looking to create surveys on your site, WPForms is one plugin option to achieve this or for a non-plugin option, you can take a look at SurveyMonkey. They were what we previously used, before WPForms, as an option should your budget allow. TypeForm is another non-plugin option that you can use should your budget allow.

If you’re looking to take small or specific payments then WPForms or Formidable forms allow you to accept those types of payments. For more advanced such as creating a store we recommend using a full-fledged ecommerce plugin such as WooCommerce.

How to Add No Right Click on WordPress Images

Do you want to prevent users from taking images from your WordPress site? While there isn’t a complete solution, there are different measures you can take to make it harder for users to save images from your site. In this video, we’ll guide you through how to add no right click to your WordPress site.

►How to Install a WordPress Theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIPQRQLAz90
For the first method in our video, we will be using the No Right Click Images plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/no-right-click-images-plugin/

With the plugin installed and activated, you can go to Settings, No Right Click Images to modify the settings. The plugin gives the option to right click images if you are logged in but otherwise, the default settings should handle what most users are looking for. Now, when you’re logged out of your site and try to right click an image it will prevent the right click.

Another plugin option we can recommend would be Envira Gallery found here:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/envira-gallery/

This plugin does require a purchase for the features we plan to use so once the plugin is purchased, installed, and activated, you will go under Envira Gallery, Settings to add your license key. Now that the plugin is set up, to protect your images you will go under Envira Gallery, Addons and scroll down to the protection addon to install and activate it.

With the Addon activated you can create or edit an already created gallery and under the Misc section, you can enable the image protection as well as have a custom popup message informing users that you have image protection enabled. Now when you add the gallery to one of your posts or pages it will prevent right clicking on that image.

The number one reason to prevent right clicks is to prevent image theft and make it harder for users to download your images. These methods are a good preventative step but do note that if they are determined enough then users can still get your images by downloading the entire page.

How to Add Anchor Links in WordPress (Step by Step)

If you’ve seen sites that have links in their longer articles to help users jump to the section they want to read then you know how helpful those can be. These can help with SEO as Google can show them below your search listings for easy navigation. In this video, we will explain what anchor links and show you how to easily add them in WordPress.

If you would like to see our written tutorial for this, you can find it here:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-easily-add-anchor-links-in-wordpress-step-by-step/#manualanchorlinks

For the first method, is for sites using Gutenberg. Start by creating the first link by adding the text, highlighting it, and adding a pound sign (#) followed by the text want to add to it. For where you want the link to jump to you would want to select the header and in the advanced area add the text from the first link.

Should the block tell you it contains unexpected or invalid content you would want to click the Convert to HTML button for the anchor link to work. If the advanced area does not give you the option you would want to use the verticle dots for more options and edit as HTML. In the p area, you will want to add an id =”” with the text you want to link to within the quotation marks.

For those using the classic editor, you will want to click the text tab, go to the tag for the section you want the link to and add the ID the same way you would have in the previous section. Should you not want to do either of those methods and want WordPress to do the work for you, you can automatically add the anchor links using the Easy Table of Contents plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-table-of-contents/

How to Find and Fix Broken Links in WordPress Step by Step

Broken links are bad for user experience but did you know they can significantly harm your SEO ranking? It’s been proven that having broken internal links can negatively impact your site’s SEO which worries some site owners. In this guide, we’ll show you how to easily find and fix broken links in WordPress to help you improve your SEO ranking and user experience.

To start, we will go to SEMRush and create a new site audit by scrolling down and clicking Site Audit on the left-hand side. On the Site Audit page, we will click the New Site Audit button, add a domain, and name the project for us to keep track of it. There are many customization settings that can be set but the default search is what we will use to check for broken links. When you visit that project, you can click the broken section to see all of the pages that SEMRush sees as broken on your site.

How to do Keyword Research video:

https://youtu.be/1BME8PfbulI

ahrefs 7day trial:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/ahrefs/

For ahrefs, we will search our domain we want to be checked, scroll down to limit to pages, and search for the HTTP code we want to check for, in this case, 404. We can now export the links found into a CSV where you can go through and fix each of the broken links that were found.

How to Set Up a Site on Search Console:

https://youtu.be/-l6733dDx9Q

The third method would be to use Google Search Console to scan your site as well. With Google Search console connected, we will go to the Coverage section and check for any errors on that page. This will list the URLs you can find and fix on your site itself.

While we don’t normally recommend the plugin below, as a fourth option you can use the Broken Link Checker plugin here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/broken-link-checker/

With the plugin installed and activated, you can go under Tools, Broken links to see the links the plugin found for you. This plugin can be very resource-intensive which is why we don’t have it higher in our recommendations.

With the links found you can now redirect them either using your htaccess file or for a simpler solution you would install and keep installed the redirection plugin to handle redirects on your site.

Redirection plugin:

Name and add a description that you would like your visitors to see when looking at the form and click the create button.

1:27 How to customize an image gallery in WordPress
4:40 How to create a gallery using Envira Gallery plugin
8:28 How to view your galleries on your website

For the first method in this guide, we will be using the default WordPress gallery block. Start by creating the post or page you would want to have it appear on and click the add block button and select gallery to add it in your content area.

You can now select the images you want to be included, you can use shift+click to select multiple files to upload at once. You’ll have the options to reorder and caption each of the images should you want or even add additional images. The standard gallery widget even includes a way to change how many images are in each column and where the gallery links to.

Should you want more control over the gallery, you would want to install and activate the Envira Gallery plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/envira-gallery-lite/

Create a new gallery, name it whatever you like, and add your images to the gallery. The plugin allows you to link individual images in the gallery to specific URLs.

The same as the default gallery you can decide how many columns to use or have the column count be determined by the plugin. Envira gallery gives you the additional power to lazy load the images, that way the images are not loaded until your visitor scrolls down to the images which can improve loading speed on your site.

How to Create a Reusable Block in WordPress Block Editor

Are you repeatedly using snippets of text on your WordPress site? If you do, then the reusable block feature will be very helpful to you. In this video, we will show you how to easily create a reusable block in the WordPress Gutenberg/Block editor.

To start, you would want to create the text that you want to repeat in your content in a single block. Now click the verticle ellipsis in the editing options for the block and click the Add to Reusable Blocks option. Name the block and click the save button to add it to the available blocks.

Now when looking to add a block you can go to the reusable blocks section and select the block you’ve added. This will add the block to your content and if you modify the block it will modify the content in the block everywhere it is placed on your site.

Another popular reusable block to add is a button block. You will want to style the button to the design you’re wanting, select the text you plan to add and add a link to where the button should send the user who clicks on it. Now when you add this to the reusable blocks area, it will be an option for placement and will have the same design and link for every place it is added.

Should you want to see all of your reusable blocks you would click add a block, open the reusable block area, and click the link titled Manage All Reusable Blocks. It will bring you to an area where you can delete, edit, or export the reusable block. This will allow you to import the block into other sites.

For this guide, we’ll be using the Lazy Social Comments plugin you can find here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/lazy-facebook-comments/

We’ll need to do a bit of developer setup which means we’ll need to to to Facebook’s developer tools found here:

https://developers.facebook.com/

Under My Apps, we will want to click the Create App link for what our plugin needs.

With the plugin installed and activated, we will go to Settings, Lazy FB Comments in our admin area to set up the plugin. Select a name as well as the email you should be contacted at should there be an issue with your app. You may need to complete a safety check to ensure you’re not a robot.

In the Settings, Basic area we will scroll down to the Add Platform area, select website, and add the URL in the added website field. Save your changes and scroll up to copy the App ID to bring it back to your WordPress site to paste into the ID box.

The plugin’s settings will also give you customization options for loading more comments on click or on scroll. With that set up you can click Moderate Comments to moderate comments added through this method. In the page it brings up, you will be able to customize your moderation settings to limit how many days after the first comment until replies are locked. You’ll also have the ability to add other users to moderate the comments on your site.
