How to Embed a Facebook Video in WordPress

Do you want to embed a Facebook video on your WordPress site? With the popularity of Facebook live and Facebook’s videos, we’ve had several of our users ask if it was possible to embed Facebook videos in WordPress. In this video, we will show you how to easily embed a Facebook video and a Facebook live video in WordPress.

To start, you will want to visit the Facebook Embedded Video and Live Video Player page found here:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/embedded-video-player

Here you will add the URL of the video from Facebook you would like to display as well as set the pixel width you want the video to display at and it should display below. There’s even the option to include the full post in a checkbox under the URL of the video box.

Now that your selected video is set, click the get code button to bring up the required code. For a Facebook video to display on your site you will need to add the first code block to your theme’s header. If your theme does not have a built-in method, you can use the Insert Headers and Footers plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/

With the above plugin, you would go under Settings, Insert Headers and Footers and add the code in the top box and click the Save button. This will automatically add the code in your site’s header for you. With that added you can add the second code from Facebook and it will embed the video the same as it would a YouTube video.

For a Facebook Live video, you will first need to go live due to Facebook’s limitations. That will allow you to right click on the date that you went live and copy the live video’s URL. Take that URL back to the Facebook Video Player Configurator to customize the display to how you’re wanting and click the Get Code button.

If you’ve already added the JavaScript to your header from another video or embed then you don’t need to add that for this new video. Add the second code block to your site where you want the live video to appear.

For the first method, we will be using OptionMonster who we mentioned above. Start by installing the plugin to connect your OptinMonster account to your WordPress site, then go to the OptinMonster website to create your account and purchase a plan there.

With the account set up, you will want to create a new optin and for this tutorial, we’re creating a floating bar option. Name and select the site you want the optin to appear on and it will bring you to the customization screen for deciding the text and location for your floating bar.

OptinMonster not only has the power to customize starting with a pre-built template but allows you to collect the interested visitor’s email addresses for future outreach. If you don’t have an email service you can use MonsterLeads for temporary storage or if you have one you can connect it to OptinMonster for adding these users to your newsletter.

For the second option, it is less customizable but you can install and activate the Simple Notices plugin. With this plugin, you can add information the same way you would with a post or page, publish it and it will now appear at the top of your page.

How to Add a Privacy Policy in WordPress

Are you looking to add a privacy policy to your WordPress site? A privacy policy tells your visitors what information you collect when they visit your site. In this video, we’ll show you how to add a privacy policy to your WordPress site!

WordPress has a built in template that you can start with by logging into your site, going under Settings, Privacy and it should bring up a page with the option to either select an already created page or create a brand new page. Either choose a page or create a new one to begin setting up your privacy policy.

If you’re creating a new page WordPress will bring you to the page where you can begin to edit each section based on the specific needs of your site. It will act the same as any other page in terms of publishing options that you can use.

With that page set up, you now want to give your users a method to display it. You could either add it to a menu or if your theme has a footer widget area, add it to your footer for your visitors.

For this tutorial we will be using the TrustPulse plugin found here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/trustpulse-api/

With the plugin installed and activated, there will be a TrustPulse section in your admin area that when you visit we will need to click the Get Started for Free or connect your existing account if you have a TrustPulse account already. There is a free plan for up to 500 sessions a month that includes a 14day free trial period.

Create your account, add a new site to the TrustPulse site, and in your dashboard create a new campaign to use. You will be able to select any of the sites you have connected to TrustPulse and your type of campaign depending on your preference.

You can select the language, how to refer to your visitors, the message text for your content, as well as where the link should go to for users clicking the notification. This is only a few of the different customization options depending on how you want your social proof to appear to your visitors. There is even the option to track different user activity for those interacting with these messages.

For a second option, you can take a look at OptinMonster here:

https://optinmonster.com

For OptinMonster we will be using their Floating Bar optin to bring attention to your users. Name the campaign and select the site you would like it to appear on and you will be brought to the OptinMonster customization area to rework the campaign to match the design, location, timing, interaction method, and text you want for your site to make it work for you.

Connect your OptinMonster account to the OptinMonster plugin with your API key to have your campaigns selectable in your admin area. Choose to go live with the campaign you’re wanting and it will start to appear on your site. We recommend only using one at a time to prevent conflicts and user confusion.

How to Add a Click to Call Button in WordPress

Are you wanting to add a click to call button on your WordPress site? As more people visit your website using their smartphones, adding a tap-to-call button makes it easy for them to contact you. In this article, we will show you how to easily add a click-to-call button in your WordPress website.

For the first plugin, WP Call Button, we will be using in this guide you will find it here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-call-button/

This plugin was created with help from Nextiva, you can find them here:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/nextiva/

To start out, the WP Call Button plugin would be our primary recommendation. With the plugin installed and activated you should go to the plugin’s settings under Settings, WP Call Button. Add your phone number and select the correct country code to start it with, decide what text you want the button to have, the button position, and the color for the button. The plugin even has a static option for placing the button in content or a widget on your site.

For the second method we will be using HTML, you can find the code from this tutorial in the text version of the guide here:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-clickable-phone-numbers-for-smartphones-in-wordpress/

Lastly, we will add the call link to our menu on the site. You would want to add a custom link and rather than starting with HTTP you would use tel: and add your phone number starting with the country code. You will also want to set the text to something that your users know to click to call you.
